Lazaro’s royal style

Last week’s royal wedding sparked the interest and imaginations of people all over the world, and while some companies were scrambling to reproduce Kate Middleton’s two bridal looks (designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen), our own Lazaro Perez decided to create something new. In this interview with Reuters, he gives us a glimpse of the design process as well as two new looks inspired by the royal wedding.

Coincidentally, Kate’s second gown (pictured below left) bears a remarkable similarity to a gown from Lazaro’s Fall 2011 collection (style 3159, below right) which debuted April 10, 2011. Taking a cue from Kate’s demure sense of style Lazaro plans on offering a cover-up for his brides, substituting the fuzzy shrug for an elegant cap-sleeved bolero. Both gowns will be offered on the Fall 2011 Lazaro Bridal collection, and will arrive in select boutiques this summer.

P.S. Did you notice the gown featured on the cover of “The Knot” during the video interview? It’s a Lazaro!
